Isle of Murray is an unique property as it actually sits on an island, although this is not at all obvious at first glance. Situated at the foot of a south facing slope of the Grampian foothills between the highlands and the lowlands.

A drive through this historic Glen leads to Glen Quaich, Loch Tay, Kenmore and Aberfeldy or to Dunkeld, a charming historic town famous for its cathedral by the River Tay.

Complimentary golf for 2 on Par 3 9-Hole Course. Excellent walking country. There is a walk up to the Crieff Knock starting directly across from the property – especially handy for dog walks. Isle of Murray offers an excellent base for touring, walking, cycling and golf.

Visitors have a wide choice of visits; The Famous Grouse Distillery offers excellent tours of the oldest distillery in Scotland, and at the end of the tour, a wee dram of whisky. There’s a restaurant there too. Strathearn Glass on the edge of Crieff is a fine display of Stuart crystal and other brands, the Visitor Centre has a large café, shops and some Buchan Pottery that is local to Crieff and also Caithness Glass.

Drummond Castle Gardens are particularly spectacular in high summer but the large Italian garden may be enjoyed at any time. This location was used in the film, Rob Roy. The Ceramic Experience offers artistic opportunities for old and young to paint pottery and there is an excellent garden centre and a pleasant short walk beside. A visit in the autumn months to Buchanty Spout, a local beauty spot, where large salmon can be seen leaping their way up the River Almond, is a truly spectacular sight. A day out at the Auchingarroch Wildlife Centre near Comrie is popular with children.

Further afield visitors have a choice of Perth, Dundee and Angus, St Andrews and the Fife coast, Stirling and the Trossachs, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Glen Coe, Oban, Aberfeldy, Pitlochry and the north. There are many reasons just to spend time around Crieff, but the accessibility of this part of Scotland means that visitors have many choices. We hope you will want to return again and again!

Visitors to Isle of Murray have access to the many activities available at the local Crieff Hydro, as well as the local Community Campus swimming pool. The local Comrie Croft centre offers and exciting day out on one of its three mountain biking courses suitable from beginner to advanced, and you can hire a bike there for longer rides. Your hosts will be happy to provide information on local walks, cycle tracks, fishing and touring.
